We have been spotlighting the employees in our office, allowing you to get a better idea of who we are and what we do. So far, you have met Kory, Brent, and Susan. Now, we’d like to introduce you to Sam, our Account Coordinator, Master of Consultative Sales, Lead Generation Gladiator, Whiteboard Connoisseur, and Office Goofball.

And in the Engenius spirit, we livened things up this month with a video! Learn what our CEO, Chris Manley, discovered about Sam.

Transcript:

Chris “Hello, I’m Chris with your first Engenius employee spotlight. Today we are going to introduce you to Sam, our Account Coordinator. Thanks for sitting down today Sam”

Sam “Thanks for having me.”

C “So rumor has it you have an alter-ego.”

S “I’ve had a couple alter-egos since I started here but I think the one you are speaking of is Laquearius. Laquearius is of the Lead Gen Legion, he is a gladiator, and he is my alter-ego, yes.

C “So can you tell us a little about how you view your own role.”

S “Laquearius’ tool of choice in the gladiator ring is a lasso and I picked that alter-ego for myself because of that. I would say that in my role as Account Coordinator I am going out and trying to corral our community, show them to Engenius, help them understand what we can bring, and try to give some business opportunities and make connections with people.

C “You are not originally from here right?”

S “I’m not I am from St. Louis, Missouri.”

C “Tell me a little about what brought you to this neck of the woods.”

S “I am a Clemson boy — go Tigers! I grew up in St. Louis and kind of wanted to run away from home. I found this great city that people are so high on now and caught the fever, so here I am.”

C “Have you found that the Greenville business community is very giving of their time and knowledge?”

S “Absolutely. It is no secret that Greenville especially takes pride in the social equity we have with each other. It’s really measurable because businesses want to do business with people they know. In my position, I am able to sell myself as well as Engenius rather than just our products, and that makes for a better relationship from the start. That’s what people want here [in Greenville] and it’s a cool position to be in to be able to leverage that situation rather than just our [products].”

C “Aside from your role as Laquearius, of course, you fulfill another responsibility here at Engenius that we call Ideation Nation. Tell us a little about this Ideation Nation.”

S “We are dreamers and thinkers and creative people here. There are 14 of us so we have lots of brains to lend to ideating. I am probably known in the office for hoarding whiteboards, it’s where I do my best thinking — or ideating as we call it — and I decided it would be a cool idea to share that activity with the rest of the crew.

Ideation Nation is a large whiteboard where no idea is a bad idea. If you are thinking about something completely unrelated to Engenius or something that can help our clients drive success out of their websites or anything in between [it goes up there.]”

C “Well Sam, thank you very much for joining us for our Employee Spotlight, we are happy to have you with us today. Stay tuned for next time when we will do our next employee spotlight with Rachel, our Director of Accounts, interviewed by our very own Laquearius.”
